It’s coming up in just over a week — Titanic Pigeon Forge’s 3rd annual Ice Carving Competition.

Watch the world’s-most celebrated ice sculptors chisel 250-pound blocks of ice into fantastic designs. This free one-day family event will take place in Titanic’s outdoor entertainment center. Professionals and amateurs will compete for prize monies.

According to a press release about the event, the event will take place in the parking lot of the museum and will last from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. And it’s FREE! Did you get that part? I love FREE events!
The only bad thing about free events — they draw big crowds! Last year, about 5,000 people came out to see the event, so expect crowds. Museum staff encourage visitors to arrive early for the best views.
The National Ice Carving Association will co-host the event. Professional and amateur artists will compete for prize money ranging from $500 to $2,000. The official judging by the National Ice Carving Association will take place at 3 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at that time.
No tickets are required for the event, but, of course, you do need tickets if you intend to visit the museum while you’re there. Reservations for the museum are strongly encouraged — you can make them at The Titanic Pigeon Forge website.
