Did you know that the Smoky Mountain area is a mecca for craftsmen? In fact, the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community has been around since 1937, and it is the largest group of independent artisans in North America.
The Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community is located on an eight-mile loop at the northeast edge of Gatlinburg. And twice a year, the community comes into Gatlinburg for a big show. One of those times is quickly approaching.
The Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community’s Holiday Craft Show will be held Monday, Nov. 26-Sunday, Dec. 2. Doors open at 10 a.m. daily, and NO ADMISSION IS CHARGED! That’s nice, huh? So, why not stop by and look around if you’re in Gatlinburg?
The show is held at the Gatlinburg Convention Center.
Everything at the craft show is handmade locally. So you can find some really unique Christmas gifts. From the website: “Giving and receiving a handcrafted piece of work is most exciting, like starting an heirloom in your family.”
Some of the things you can expect to find at the show are: pottery, woodcarving, candle-making, quilting, weaving, broom-making, and painting.
