Here are events to plan for (or around, as the case may be…) for the summer!

Gatlinburg Farmers Market

  • Date: Saturday mornings from 8:30-11:30 a.m. from June 1 through September
  • Where: Alamo Steakhouse parking lot, 705 East Parkway in Gatlinburg
  • Cost: Free!
  • Highlights: Offers local choices for healthy living — highlights on fresh produce and homemade products.

Titanic Exhibit — Children Stories of the Titanic

  • Date: June – August
  • Where: Titanic Pigeon Forge
  • Cost: Free with cost of admission
  • Highlights: Out of the 2,208 people on board the Titanic, 133 of them were children. Come hear their stories — what they saw, heard, and felt.

Mountain Hounds Weekend

  • Date: May 30-June 3
  • Where: Mynatt Park, located off Historic Nature Trail (Traffic Light #8)
  • Cost: Free to view
  • Highlights: This weekend draws more than 250 rescued greyhounds and their owners to Gatlinburg.

Parker’s Greatest Knife Show

  • Date: June 13-15
  • Where: Sevierville Convention Center
  • Cost: $7 admission
  • Highlights: Large-scale collectable knife show that is open to the public.

T. Graham Brown and Jimmy Fortune in concert

  • Date: Friday, June 14 at 8 p.m.
  • Where: Country Tonite Theatre
  • Cost: $35
  • Highlights: Part of the Country Tonite 2013 Celebrity Concert Series.

Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales

  • Date: June 14-August 10
  • Where: Downtown Gatlinburg
  • Cost: Free!
  • Highlights: A street performance event throughout downtown Gatlinburg featuring musical performers, storytellers, and artisans giving you a taste of the Appalachian culture.

Christmas in July

  • Date: July 1-31
  • Where: The Inn at Christmas Place
  • Cost: Included with night’s stay at hotel
  • Highlights: Daily activities and entertainment to celebrate Christmas in summer!

Fourth of July Midnight Parade & Fireworks

  • Date: July 3-July 4
  • Where: Downtown Gatlinburg
  • Cost: Free!
  • Highlights: Proud to be the nation’s first 4th of July parade, this parade starts at the stroke of midnight. Followed by a fireworks finale.

Gatlinburg’s River Raft Regatta

  • Date: July 4
  • Where: Downtown Gatlinburg, Little Pigeon River
  • Cost: Free!
  • Highlights: Anything floatable can be entered starting at 10 a.m.. There are prizes for the top three places in various divisions.

Patriot Festival

  • Date: July 4
  • Where: Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge, located on Old Mill Street at Traffic Light #7
  • Cost: Free!
  • Highlights: A festival with games, food, entertainment, and a fireworks finale! Kids’ Carnival begins at 1 p.m. with inflatables and games.

Tanya Tucker in concert

  • Date: Friday, July 5 at 8 p.m.
  • Where: Country Tonite Theatre

  • Date: July 12-14

Gatlinburg Craftmen’s Fair

  • Date: July 19-July 28
  • Where: Gatlinburg Convention Center
  • Cost: $6 admission
  • Highlights: Arts, crafts, and music lovers can find 150-plus booths featuring find, handmade work. Artisans and craftspeople are on hand to demonstrate their skills, answer questions, and offer their unique art for sale. Live entertainment. Open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily.

  • Date: Friday, July 26 at 8 p.m.
  • Where: Country Tonite Theatre

Midnight 8k Road Race

  • Date: August 3
  • Where: Down the middle of the boulevard!

  • Highlights: This race starts at 11:59 p.m. and has a flat course that dazzles with lights.

  • Date: August 15-18
  • Where: Numerous venues in downtown Gatlinburg

  • Highlights: The public is invited to concerts that will celebrate the Appalachian musical roots.
