Alcohol continues to prove to be a contentious subject in Sevier County.
After a long debate on Monday night, Tennessee lawmakers approved legislation that will clear the way for a new moonshine distillery in Gatlinburg, according to The Knoxville News. This new legislation will override Gatlinburg city officials who voted to keep the distillery out.
The name of the new distillery is Sugarlands, and it will be located in Gatlinburg, close to where Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery is currently operating.
